The varsity teams from Higley Spiritline competed at the USA National Competition in Anaheim February 22-24. After qualifying in 2018 at the USA Regional Competition, where all teams took first, the girls went to California feeling very confident.
On Friday, the 22nd, the two stunt teams and varsity cheer gave beautiful performances. Stunt competed against around 20 other talented teams in the All-Girl Stunt Intermediate division and were proud of what they put on the floor. Cheer gave it their all in the Large Varsity Cheer Intermediate division and were pleased with their last performance of the season.
February 23rd and 24th were reserved for pom and jazz teams and the Higley team did amazing! Pom moved onto finals and took home a second place title in the Large Varsity Pom Intermediate division, which had many skilled competitors. Jazz also advanced to finals and earned Higley a national title in the Small Jazz division.
The girls worked hard this school year and it clearly payed off. The Higley Spiritline coaches are proud of what their girls have done this season and are looking forward to next year. They know the talent will continue to grow and put Higley on top.
Tryouts are also coming up soon.
