QUEEN CREEK, AZ The Higley Knights are advancing to the State Semifinals for the third season in a row. This victory was part of the great “Revenge Tour” as the Knights fell to Casteel at home 56-24 earlier in the season. “It’s great to exact some revenge and we had been wanting to play them again when they left that bad taste in our mouth!” Senior Dante Esposito stated.

Hailed as an instant classic that will be remembered for years to come, as it came down to the last minute with Senior QB Spencer Brasch finding Sophomore WR Truitt Robinson for a 77 yard TD pass. That connection sealed the game up for the Knights as the final score was 34-27 at Casteel High School. “I was running for my life. I was thinking about running it and at the last second, I saw Truitt a couple yards down the field…I threw it up to him just over the safety and he made an incredible catch.” Brasch told sports360az.com after the epic game.

“I just love our players and how they have battled some adversity, it really shows their heart!” and elated Coach Zubey stated after the win. “We are just excited to get another week together and prepare for a great match-up with Centennial High School.” Zubey added.

Coach Zubey is referring to the semifinal date with Peoria Centennial High School. The game will be played at Willow Canyon High School as the Semifinals will be held at a neutral site this Friday, kickoff is set for 7pm.
