“Knights Football Crush Tigers”

GILBERT, AZ The Football Knights are in a home stretch towards the end of the season and really took a huge step in cementing a good playoff seed in the forthcoming playoffs. In a crucial game, the Knights traveled to Gilbert High School and throttled the Tigers 48-22 at Tiger Stadium.
“We are really trying to get the guys focused all week on the importance of this game!” Knights head coach Ed Zubey stated. “Gilbert has always been a solid program here in the East Valley and to come in here and get a win is huge for our program!” Zubey added.
“It was a total team effort tonight, coaches did a great job of getting us prepared on different schemes we would see!” Senior QB Spencer Brasch stated. Brasch had another signature night with 247 yards in the air with 5 touchdowns adding 1 rushing touchdown. “It’s a total team effort, I give all the credit to my teammates for making my job easier!” Brasch added.
The “Team First” moniker all year has really shown on the field and tonight was no different. Coleman Owen had another monster game with 3 touchdowns, Jaxen Gibbons added 127 yards along with a touchdown.
The defense was key in the first half suffocating the Tigers offensively. The Knights defense showed multiple looks that confused the Tigers and really set up great position for the offense to do their part. Austin Godfrey sparked the defense with 9 tackles and a forced fumble along with getting the rest of the team fired up. “We just love to compete and work for each other, it’s a greater feeling to see my teammates succeed on the field more then myself!” Godfrey said after the win. Dante Esposito and Carson Brooks added a host of tackles to make it a long night for the Tigers as well.
“It’s great to come out here and really execute the game plan!” Senior Dante Esposito stated. The Defense wasn’t done, Logan Maxwell lived in the Tiger backfield adding 5 sacks to his impressive resume this season. Logan also seen his teammate occupy space in the backfield as Jason Harris had 4 tackles and 3 sacks.
The Knights will be traveling to Williams Field High School in the annual “Wigley Cup” 2018 edition Friday Night, kickoff is set for 7pm.
